REACH Across Communities Coalition Programs

Working Together for Safe, Healthy Communities

Creating safe, healthy, and drug-free communities takes all of us. REACH Council brings together individuals, organizations, and community leaders to identify local needs, strengthen protective factors, and prevent youth substance use.

REACH Council is a registered member of the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA). CADCA defines a coalition as:

“A formal arrangement for collaboration between groups or sectors of a community, in which each group retains its identity but all agree to work together toward a common goal of building a safe, healthy, and drug-free community.”

Who Participates?

Effective coalitions include people directly affected by local concerns, individuals with formal and informal influence, and representatives from across the community. Coalitions should also reflect the cultural diversity and unique strengths of the communities they serve.

We welcome participation from the following community sectors:

  • Youth under age 18
  • Parents and caregivers
  • Businesses
  • Civic and volunteer organizations
  • Media
  • Healthcare professionals
  • Faith-based and fraternal organizations
  • Youth-serving organizations
  • Schools
  • Law enforcement agencies
  • Local and state government agencies
  • Organizations and individuals working to prevent substance use and promote community wellness

REACH Across Communities supports county-based coalitions serving Ellis, Johnson, and Hill Counties. Each coalition brings local partners together to address the needs and priorities of its community.
